Someone in Victoria has a Lotto Max ticket worth $25 million.

The lucky ticket was drawn Friday, but as of Saturday night no one had come forward to claim the big prize. It was part of a $50-million jackpot that will be shared with another winner from an unspecified Prairie province.

B.C. Lottery Corp. spokeswoman Laura Piva-Babcock said she could say only that the ticket was sold in Victoria. The place where the ticket was bought has not been disclosed.

“Nobody’s come forward at this point,” Piva-Babcock said. “It just depends, some people like to come in right away and other people like to wait a while. It’s all personal preference.”

Winners have one year to claim their prize.

Vancouver Island was also a lucky spot in May 2011 when David Rennie of Campbell River won $35,738,798 with his Lotto Max ticket. The 48-year-old shared his win with his wife and son, and one of the first things they did was take in a Vancouver Canucks playoff game.
