Someone who donated a purse in Nanaimo might have given away more good will than they planned. RCMP said say a volunteer at the Hospice Thrift Shop was looking through a black purse before it went up for sale and found some cash.

Someone who donated a purse in Nanaimo might have given away more good will than they planned.

RCMP said say a volunteer at the Hospice Thrift Shop was looking through a black purse before it went up for sale and found some cash.

Police wouldn’t give an exact amount, but said it’s less than $1,000 and came with a piece of stationery that appeared to be used for tracking spending.

Mounties seized the cash, and if the rightful owner doesn’t come forward within 90 days, the finder is entitled to claim it.
