Canadian Army's ‘Roguish Buoy’ dive event coming to Comox Lake

The Canadian Army will host five countries at an annual exercise for divers being held in the vicinity of Comox Lake through March 1. The exercise, known as Roguish Buoy, dates back at least 20 years, and was also held in the Comox area in 2013.

The exercise, known as Roguish Buoy, dates back at least 20 years, and was also held in the Comox area in 2013.

The exercise aims to help Canadian Army divers keep their skills current and ensure that they can work with divers from North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries.

Joining Canada in Roguish Buoy 2016 are Belgium, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The 2016 exercise builds on Roguish Buoy 2014, held in Esquimalt. Roguish Buoy 2015 in Valcartier, Que., included work on underwater demolition and ice-diving search and recovery.
