The campfire ban in effect for the Coastal Fire Centre was lifted as of noon Monday.
The ban was imposed July 6 in the Coastal Fire Centre jurisdiction, which includes most of Vancouver Island and a portion of the southern mainland. The ban continued as the capital region endured a record of 54 consecutive days without precipitation, based on statistics from Victoria International Airport.
A provincewide campfire ban was delared amid devastating wildfires in the Interior.
