The Coast Discovery Inn, at 975 Shoppers Row in Campbell River, is to reopen on Monday. It closed on March 7.

Campbell River’s Coast Discovery Inn will reopen on Monday, about two months after it shut down because of a labour dispute.

General Manager/Owner Sukhy Bains confirmed Thursday that all 35 employees would be coming back with the same pay scale, wages and benefits.

Bains also confirmed the hotel would reopen its restaurant on June 1. He said the hotel would be undergoing many renovations in preparation for the upcoming season.

Bains, whose hotel has helped many local charities, including the Rod BrindAmour Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament and was the weekly meeting venue for the Noon Rotary Club of Campbell River, said it has been a difficult time but the future looks bright.

“I want to thank our community, our guests and our clients for your patience during our recent closure,” he said. “Your support over the years has meant so much to me and to the entire team at the hotel.

We hope to welcome you back and show you how important your business is to us. We are excited about the future, which will include renovations of our guest rooms beginning later this year, and a new restaurant offering. We look forward to sharing news with you as we move forward.”
