The body of missing Sointula filmmaker Twyla Roscovich has been found, according to a post on her Facebook page.

“We are deeply saddened to inform everyone that our dear Twyla’s body has been found. No foul play is suspected,” the post states.

A statement released Saturday by RCMP said Roscovich's body was recovered at the Fisherman's Wharf Marina in Campbell River.

Police said foul play is not suspected. The investigation has been handed over to the B.C. Coroner's Service.

Roscovich, 38, was reported missing on Tuesday. Her car was found in Campbell River.

She had left Sointula on Sept. 6 for medical treatment on Vancouver Island. Her family received a text message stating that she planned to camp near Nanaimo in her car.

Roscovich worked with fish-farm opponent Alexandra Morton on the documentary Salmon Confidential.

The Facebook page said that a fundraising page will be created to assist her young daughter.

“We also wish to express our heartfelt appreciation for those who took part in search efforts, as well as all of those who reached out with concern and support over the last few days,” the message said.

“Twyla is so loved. This coast she loved and fought for with all of her heart is a lonelier place for her passing. She left us too soon.”
