Saanich police are warning about a bear roaming around near West Saanich Road this morning.
Someone reported that they saw the bear around 4:52 a.m. in the 5000-block of West Saanich Road near the Centre of the Universe observatory.
Officers went to the area but couldn’t find the bear.
B.C. Conservation officers were advised of the sighting.
Nearby residents, parents and children and anyone visiting the park should take caution.
A black bear was also spotted on Oct. 6 in the 1600-block of Charlton Road in Saanich, however there’s no indication that both sightings were of the same bear.
