Normal sailings have resumed on B.C. Ferries routes after propeller problems on the Queen of New Westminster caused four sailings to be cancelled last night and this morning.

The 8 a.m. sailing out of Tsawwassen and 10 a.m. sailing out of Swartz Bay were cancelled Sunday morning. Mechanical problems also forced the cancellation of two sailings Saturday evening: the 6 p.m. sailing out of Tsawwassen and the 8 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay.

B.C. Ferries said earlier this week that the mechanical issues on the Queen of New Westminster had been fixed, after the same problem caused eight sailings to be cancelled on July 8 and 9.

B.C. Ferries spokeswoman Deborah Marshall said Monday that repairs to the vessel were complete and sea trials were successful.

As of noon Sunday, sailings resumed as normal and there was a one sailing wait at both Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay.
