It was a homecoming befitting an Olympic champion. Cassie Sharpe returned on Saturday to Mount Washington, where one of the ski runs was renamed in her honour.

The 25-year-old Comox resident was the gold medallist in women’s ski halfpipe at the recent Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Her win was part of a record medal haul by Canada: 11 gold, eight silver and 10 bronze. Sharpe proudly wore her medal while celebrating at her home training ground.
