Port Alberni RCMP are warning residents after three reports of “peeping Tom” incidents at area homes since December.

Three homeowners told police they had seen a male staring into their windows late at night.

The first incident was Dec. 7 in the 3000-block of the Alberni Highway and the most recent was Jan. 11 in the Cherry Creek area.

Police said members of the public can enhance personal security with sensor lights or by leaving outside lights on, and by ensuring plants and shrubs do not block windows or create hiding spots. In addition, doors and windows should be locked, window coverings should be closed and ladders should be kept indoors, police said.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
