Saanich and Victoria police have arrested a 26-year-old Saanich man and confiscated two ounces of cocaine and $10,000 in cash.
Officers are now consulting the B.C. Civil Forfeiture Office, which could lead police to seize more of the man's property, said Sgt. Dean Jantzen, spokesman for Saanich police.
The department's street crime unit launched an investigation with Victoria police's strike force unit in April, targeting a man described as a midlevel drug dealer.
"This is part of a larger picture. ... This isn't just about trafficking two ounces of cocaine," Jantzen said.
The man was arrested Friday afternoon during a traffic stop in the 4000 block of the Pat Bay Highway. Police then searched a home in the 700 block of Claremont Avenue.
