The Langford Fire Department quelled a brush fire Sunday night with the help of B.C forest service.
One helicopter and the full Langford Fire Department was deployed to fight the fire off Happy Valley Road. At its peak, the fire covered half a hectare of land.
"Right now we've got it knocked down," said Lieut. Kim Reach.
"It was two to three kilometres inside the woods," he said, adding that it was in a hard-to-access area.
The fire department responded to a smoke sighting at 5 p.m. and continued to fight the flames into Sunday night.
"It required a lot of labour resources," Reach said, adding that the department would monitor the fire throughout the night if necessary.
