Mobile food vendors are gathering in the parking lot behind Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Karrie Hill’s Dead Beetz food truck joins the Tacofino van, which will soon be joined by the Dog Nation food cart to create a destination for food vendors.

Darren Parker, vice-president of sales for the arena, said the trucks bring some life to a quieter time during summer months.

He’s hoping patrons will take note of upcoming events at the arena. The Select Your Tickets box office is open, as is the team store, featuring Victoria Royals hockey team merchandise.

Starting this week, business card draws for Royals-related prizes will be offered in partnership with the food trucks.

Visitors to the trucks can use the centre’s washroom.

The centre has power outlets for trucks requiring electricity.

Picnic tables have been set out in an island in the parking lot.

Food trucks have also been springing up across the city (with map).
