FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - Two people are dead after an explosion at a trailer park in Fort St. John, in northern B.C.

RCMP say emergency workers were called on Friday at about 10:15 p.m. after witnesses were rocked by a large explosion (at the Southridge Trailer Park on 82nd St.)

The say a neighbour rushed to the motor home and tried to force his way in, but couldn't enter because of intense heat and flames.

Firefighters arrived and worked quickly to put out the fire.

Cpl. Kate Bamber says two bodies were located inside the home and police were working to identify them.

Police, the fire commission and the B.C. Coroners' Service are investigating the cause of the blast.
