CLOVERDALE, B.C. - Kelly Scott defeated Patti Knezevic 9-6 on Sunday to win the Scotties B.C. women's curling championship.

With the win, Scott's rink from Kelowna qualified for next month's Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Kingston, Ont.

Scott, a former world and Canadian champion, scored two in the first end, three in the third and another in the fourth to take a commanding 6-1 lead.

Knezevic's rink from Prince George got two back in the fifth end, but Scott responded with two in the sixth and another in the seventh. Knezevic scored two in the eighth and one more in the ninth to round out the scoring.

Scott, who has won four straight B.C. titles and six of the last nine overall, finished second at last year's Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
