Plutner scores winner as the Americans down the Royals in OT

VICTORIA - Michal Plutner scored with one second remaining in overtime as the Tri-City Americans beat the host Victoria Royals 3-2 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Brian Williams and Zachary Yuen also scored for the Americans (22-14-3) while Eric Comrie made 27 saves for the victory.

Steven Hodges and Jordan Fransoo scored for the Royals (19-15-3) as Patrik Polivka turned aside 31 saves in a losing cause.

Tri-City went 1 for 5 on the power play while Victoria failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
