CRANBROOK, B.C. - Brock Montgomery scored twice and Levi Cable put the Kootenay Ice ahead for good in a 3-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Monday in Western Hockey League action.

Cable's goal at 10:20 of the third gave Kootenay (12-24-1) the victory only two minutes after Calgary had tied the game at two.

Zane Jones and Cody Sylvester scored for Calgary (24-10-4), which suffered only its second regulation road loss of the season.

Mackenzie Skapski made 30 saves for the Ice, while Mack Shields stopped 34 for the Hitmen.
