Fifty Shades of Grey sets up shop for saucy scene in Ladner

If it sounds like a scene in a romance movie, you wouldn't be wrong. It's Fifty Shades of Grey, which is filming across various locations throughout Metro Vancouver until Feb. 20.

The raunchy tale of Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson) and her rich fetish-master, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), begins at Claytons Hardware store, where Ana works part-time.

Tuesday, the shopfront was set up in Ladner, where Dornan was spotted on set, and the scene described above may have been recreated. It's believed that filming will continue at this location again on Wednesday.

Fifty Shades is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, based on the novel of the same name by E.L. James.

Vancouver may see more Hollywood stars in the coming weeks. Night at the Museum 3, starring Ben Stiller, Robin Williams and Ricky Gervais, is set to begin filming Feb. 1, based at Mammoth Studios in Burnaby.

Production of feature film The Age of Adaline, starring Blake Lively, is scheduled for March 10.
