VANCOUVER - Cole Cheveldave made 24 saves as the Kamloops Blazers blanked the host Vancouver Giants 6-0 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Colin Smith, Brendan Ranford and Cole Ully had a goal and an assist each for the Blazers (41-16-5) and Joe Kornelsen had two assists.

Dylan Willick, Chase Souto and Kale Kessy also scored to round out Kamloops' offence.

Cain Franson and Jackson Houck were a team-worst minus-3 for the Giants (15-45-2), who are winless in four games.

Vancouver's Payton Lee took the loss after allowing five goals on 17 shots in 28 minutes of action. Jared Rathjen replaced Lee midway through the second period and stopped 11-of-12 shots in relief.

Kamloops went 1 for 5 on the power play while Vancouver failed to score on seven chances with the man advantage.
