B.C. Tory leader John Cummins to run in Langley in May 4 provincial election

The Canadian Press / Times Colonist
January 7, 2013

LANGLEY, B.C. - B.C. Conservative party leader John Cummins says he'll be running in the riding of Langley in the provincial election on May 14.

He says his home is in south Langley and he wants to serve the area as MLA.

The riding is currently represented by Liberal Mary Polak, who is the minister of transportation and infrastructure.

Cummins, who served as an MP for the Richmond-Delta area for a decade beginning in 1997, became leader of the B.C. Conservatives in May 2011.

He says his campaign issues will include job creation, skills and job training, natural-resource development and better controls on government spending.
