B.C. Liberals have released a video advertisement featuring their three indigenous candidates to highlight the First Nations aspect of their slate.

The clip shows Dallas Smith, Ellis Ross and Wanda Good talking about issues.

Smith is a former president of the Nanwakolas council running in North Island. Ross is former chief of the Haisla, running in Skeena. Good is the deputy chief councillor of the Gitanyou Nation, running in Stikine.

They make brief remarks about strong families, a strong economy and independence.

“There are ways to get it done so that everyone wins,” says Ross.

The 30-second ad features them in their home communities. It will air in the coming weeks on TV.

Indigenous people are the fastest growing demographic in B.C.

NDP MLA Melanie Mark is indigenous and the party is expecting to nominate another First Nations candidate – Anne Marie Sam, in Nechako, next week.

B.C. Greens have two: Adam Olsen, in Saanich North and the Islands, and Richard Jacques, in Cariboo North.
