Tattoo gives robbery suspect's name to police

A robbery suspect has been ratted out by his own tattoo.

Victoria police said they were able to track down a suspect in a robbery from last week after a clerk at the Bay Street 7-Eleven told them the surname "Aitken" had been inked into one of the man's forearms. Surveillance cameras confirmed the clerk's observations, and police were able to find the man over the weekend.

The clerk told police the suspect made threats and claimed to have a knife. The man demanded cigarettes and jumped over the counter to steal a few packages before running off.

Ryan Aitken, a 29-year-old Central Saanich man, faces a charge of robbery. -
