Westshore RCMP are trying to unravel conflicting stories about how a 21-year-old Langford man had his face slashed by three assailants. First reports indicated a man had been attacked with a knife and samurai-like sword as he walked home from a gym.

Police later said the man may have been attacked during a home invasion on Hannington Road. Suspects are described as a six-foot aboriginal man, a short black man and a five-foot 10-inch white man.
