OTTAWA - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird on Monday condemned attacks on Israeli embassy staff in Delhi and in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.

"Canada condemns in the strongest terms today's attack against Israeli diplomats in India and the attempted attack on Israeli diplomats in Georgia," Baird said in a statement.

Israeli envoys were targeted by car bomb attacks in both Delhi and Tbilisi on Monday, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanayhu pointing the finger of blame at Iran.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast, however, was quoted by Al-Alam television as "categorically" rejecting the accusations.
