Camosun College Co-operative Education and Career Services Volunteer Fair: Looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity for the new year? Want to support your favourite non-profit organizations by volunteering? Volunteer Victoria invites you to join its Camosun Volunteer Fair on Feb. 8-9 at Camosun College Lansdowne Campus to learn more about and network with non-profit organizations. The volunteer fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day in the foyer of the Fisher Building. Everyone is welcome! Baptist Housing volunteers:
• Strengthen care and community by volunteering as a community host, resident companion or activity assistant at The Heights at Mount View Seniors Residence., 3814 Carey Rd.
• Encourage senior engagement and learning at Shannon Oaks and Marrion Village. Volunteer opportunities include: activity assistant/leader, basic computer skills teacher, baby visitations (who doesn’t love having babies around!), spiritual care visitations and more.

Mental Health Visiting and Activity Volunteers: Volunteer Access at Volunteer Victoria is recruiting mental health visiting and activity volunteers to assist residents living in mental health group homes. Volunteers visit, go for walks, provide fitness programs or activities, or enjoy common interests in the community. Age 19-plus, six-month commitment, once a week. The South Vancouver Island chapter of the Huntington Society of Canada has volunteer opportunities:
• Communications and Media Co-ordinator: Primary responsibilities include marketing chapter events to television, radio, newspaper and on social media. Flexible hours. Approximately five to 20 hours per month, one-year minimum commitment.
• Vice-president: Primary responsibilities include working closely with the president to lead chapter activities with the intent to take over as president some time in the future. Flexible hours; approximately five to 20 hours per month, two year minimum commitment.

Art Program Volunteers: Victoria Women’s Transition House Society is seeking four volunteers to assist with a community art program, working with women who have experienced intimate-partner or family violence. Volunteers should be interested and comfortable working with art materials and helping participants who may have physical disabilities to engage in art projects overseen by a group facilitator. Volunteers will help with set up, take down and refreshments. The program starts March 2 and runs for four hours on Thursday afternoons for 10 weeks.
