If you’re asking someone’s hand in marriage, increase the odds that they will say yes by doing it in one of the world’s most romantic places. Here are our top choices:
5. Toronto, Ontario

Canada has lots of romantic spots, probably too many to count, so we’re going to go big with our choice of Toronto, specifically the 360 Restaurant on the top of the CN Tower. Just hope your betrothed doesn’t have acrophobia, a fear of heights, although commitment phobia might be worse.
4. Prague, Czech Republic

Love locks are part of a tradition that possibly dates back to ancient times. Two lovers inscribe their names on a lock and affix it to a bridge then toss the key into the river to symbolize they are eternally bound to each other. If you affix your own love lock with your partner while simultaneously proposing marriage, you’re guaranteed a positive response. Several bridges in Europe are adorned by love locks. We choose the spot along the canal near the Charles Bridge in Prague’s Mala Strana.
3. Paris, France

The City of Lights might as well be known as the City of Love. It has no shortage of romantic spots to pop the question. It may be cliché, but our choice of the best place to do it is the iconic Eiffel Tower.
2. Venice, Italy

Venice is well-known for being one of the world’s most romantic destinations. The most romantic way to ask someone to marry you is by doing it during a gondola ride on one of the city’s canals. If she jumps out of the boat, then you’ve got a problem.
1. Agra, India

The Taj Mahal in Agra is the world’s most famous monument to lost love. What better place to declare your undying devotion to someone? As a bonus, diamond rings are less expensive in India because it’s where many of them are cut.
