At Sangster Elementary School in Colwood, an educational experiment is getting kindergarten students out of the classroom and into nature. Twenty-two kids start each day with a two-kilometre hike, play outdoors, eat their snacks in the woods and then head back to school for a nap and classroom time in the afternoon. Common in Europe, this is the first time the approach has been tried in B.C. Find out more about the program on page D6.
