What: Crescendo Gala — benefitting Victoria Symphony and Pacific Opera Victoria
Where: Crystal Ballroom at the Empress Hotel
When: 6 p.m., May 6
Tickets: $350 per person, or Lead Donor for $2,500 includes High Note pre-reception. Call 250-412-1977
Note: Hosted by renowned Canadian tenor Ben Heppner

The gala will feature internationally renowned, dramatic tenor Ben Heppner and will include a gourmet three-course dinner and musical entertainment — all accompanied by the full symphony orchestra.

Among silent and live auctions are a week’s stay in a Paris apartment, musical and catered entertainments, a weekend with a luxury Porsche, a scotch and snooker night at Government house, a penthouse dinner and stay at a fine hotel, even voice lessons (and a recording session) with an opera teacher.

Among the unique offerings is an extravagant, custom-created dinner that will be prepared and served by four “hot” gastronomic guys. The four amateur chefs are celebrated in this city for their cutting-edge culinary talents and fine wine cellars.

Other items include artworks, sports and adventures, epicurean treats, literary offerings, fashion items, and a chance to play the organ at Christ Church Cathedral.

Those who cannot attend the event can still take part in the auction, which will be online next week at crescendogalaauction.ca.
