CHARLOTTETOWN - Police on Prince Edward Island are investigating after tens of thousands of dollars worth of food was spoiled when the heat was turned up in a refrigeration unit at a local grocery store.

Police say the incident happened overnight Thursday at the Atlantic Superstore on University Avenue in Charlottetown.

They say the temperature had been turned up in a refrigeration trailer to about 30 C, spoiling about $60,000 worth of frozen seafood, grocery and meat products.

Police are searching for a suspect or suspects.
