The cool, clear weather made for ideal running conditions.
The runners cast long shadows early in the morning at the start of the marathon.
The kids' marathon drew dozens of enthusiastic participants.
"Inspire us," Sarah Dudas, left, and James Mortimer exhorted from their balcony in the crisp morning air.
Kate Osborne of Seattle had "Go Kate" written on her thighs to spur her on.

Ken Bonner is the Walk of Fame stone winner for 2009. Among his achievements is running every one of the 30 Royal Victoria Marathons since the race was first held.
Uta Garost poured Gatorade for the runners.
Runner Philip Samoei breezed through Beacon Hill Park.
Sasha Hansen, 3, ran in the Kids' Marathon.
No couch potatoes here — dozens of children took part in the marathon.
