An outbreak of influenza A has closed Central Care Home to visitors.

The closure of the facility, at 844 Johnson St. in Victoria, was declared Jan. 30 and remains in effect.

Callers to the care home are advised that the care home is closed, visitors are prohibited and residents must remain on their floor.

The residential-care nursing home is run by Baptist Housing and has 147 private rooms.
