Sidney/North Saanich RCMP arrested the man on Monday after a three-month investigation by the B.C. Integrated Child Exploitation Unit.
He is facing charges of possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography, said Sidney/North Saanich RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Erin Fraser. Police seized a computer and other equipment from the home.
The man had a telebail hearing Monday night and was released from custody on several conditions until his next court appearance in May.
