Classic rock kings KISS are rumoured to be touring Canada this summer, a trek which would include the band’s first-ever Victoria appearance.
According to a report on the website Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, KISS is expected to begin its 18-date Canadian tour in Victoria on July 5. The band is reportedly booked to play the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre, the Blanshard Street site of the former Memorial Arena, as part of its most extensive Canadian tour to date.
KISS was booked to perform at Memorial Arena during the late 1970s, but the concert was canceled and never rescheduled.
The band's upcoming tour of primarily secondary Canadian markets wraps Aug. 3 in St John’s, Nfld. KISS is touring to support its 20th studio album, Monster, which debuted at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard charts in 2012. The band’s vast roster of hits includes Beth, Rock and Roll All Nite, Detroit Rock City, and Shout it Out Loud.
