Spend an evening learning about the art of rug-making, from dyeing the wool to tying the fringes, at the Intro to Oriental Rugs workshop at Ten Thousand Villages.

The free seminar will teach people how to identify the differences in quality and construction for hand-knotted Tribal, Persian and Bokhara Oriental rugs. By the end of the seminar, participants should have enough information to make an informed decision when purchasing a rug.

Refreshments will be served after the seminar and experts will be on hand to answer questions.

Registration is recommended. The seminar is set for Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Ten Thousand Villages, 1009 Government St.

To register, call Maria Lyons 250-598-8183 or victoria.downtown@villages.ca. For more information, go to tenthousandvillages.ca.
