At Saturday’s event, divers will check out the sea floor around Brentwood Bay and do a cleanup, if necessary. An aquarium will be set up on the dock to display sea creatures affected by marine debris.
At the open house, the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre will introduce the new Scientific Diving Training Program that will support the Volunteer Diving Program. There will be hot drinks, treats and chances to win door prizes.
Volunteer divers and ocean enthusiasts are welcome to help in the cleanup.
The underwater cleanup is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The open house is 1 to 4 p.m. at Brentwood Bay Marina, 849 Verdier Ave. For more information, go to rockfishdivers.com.
