A sneak peek of a disaster flick about the deadly impact of stone-filled tornadoes that was filmed in Victoria last fall is now available.

Stonados, directed by Victoria’s Jason C. Bourque, premières April 27 on the Sy Fy Channel in the U.S., but a trailer can currently be seen on the website for Marvista Entertainment.

It’s expected Canadian audiences will be able to see the film on Showcase later this spring.

Victoria was passed off as storm-tossed Boston for the film that stars Paul Johansson (One Tree Hill) as Joe, a widowed ex-storm chaser; Sebastian Spence (First Wave) as his former partner; Thea Gill (Queer as Folk) as a tough bureaucrat; and William B. Davis (The X-Files) as a lighthouse keeper.

Scenes were filmed at Fisgard Lighthouse, UVic’s Centennial Stadium, Saxe Point in Esquimalt and Bastion Square downtown.
