It's time for Canadian College of Performing Arts students to get serious.

"This is the intense drama," communications manager Steven Seltzer said, referring to Company C's production of Rabbit Hole. "It's a very well-written, powerful piece of theatre."

Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, David Lindsay-Abaire's play blends humour and drama as it focuses on a couple who drift apart in the wake of a life-shattering accident, and their attempts to find their way back into the light of day.

Rabbit Hole is being guest-directed by Matthew Howe, who was resident director/choreographer and master teacher at the Tony Award-winning Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Minn.

Company C is the third-year program of the prestigious performing arts college founded in 1998 by Janis Dunning and Jacques Lemay. This year it features 12 graduates of the second-year program working with professional directors.

The ensemble will lighten up in mid-December with a production of the musical Little Shop of Horrors, before the students launch their careers on the world stage.
