Why. The Stone Of Destiny (2008) is a historical comedy/drama based on fact and Scottish nationalism.

TUESDAY

Concert

What. An Evening with John Mayall.

Where. McPherson Playhouse.

When. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 8 p.m.

Why. The career of pioneering English blues singer John Mayall spans more than 50 years. He has been influential in the careers of such talents as Eric Clapton, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Tickets: $53.75.

WEDNESDAY

Ceremony

What. Remembrance Day service.

Where. Cenotaph, Belleville and Government Streets.

When. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 10:30 a.m.

Why: A chance to honour those who died in the military service of Canada as well as those who served or continue to serve in the armed forces.

Punk Rock

What. The Misfits.

Where. Element, 919 Douglas St.

When. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 10 p.m.

Why. The Misfits are Back! The New Jersey based rock band is said to have given birth to horror punk, a sub genre combining punk rock with horror film themes and imagery.

THURSDAY

Opera

What. Pacific Opera Victoria’s opening night.

Where. Royal Theatre, 850 Broughton St.

When. Thursday, Nov. 12, 8 p.m.

Why: There’s opening night glitter plus.

Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, a cautionary tale about what happens when a friend turns out to be the devil. Tickets run $36.50 to $121.50.

FRIDAY

Hockey

What. Victoria Salmon-Kings take on Stockton Thunder.

Where. Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

When. Friday, Nov. 13, 7:05 p.m.

Why. It’s hometown hockey, with the final of three straight games against the Californians.

SATURDAY

Concert

What. Ken Lavigne Direct From Carnegie Hall.

Where. McPherson Playhouse, Centennial Square.

When. Saturday Nov. 14, 8:00 p.m.
