Dan Mangan, U.S.S. among acts announced for July festival in Victoria

Three days of programming led by Dan Mangan, U.S.S., and Talib Kweli will be on tap at this year’s Phillips Backyard Weekender, organizers announced today.

The third annual event, set for July 24-26 at the Phillips Brewing lot on Government Street in Victoria, has become a highlight of the festival season. Since its launch in 2013, the Atomique Productions event has drawn a wide range of headliners, including Charles Bradley, the Original Wailers, Shad, the Cat Empire, De La Soul, and others.

The 2015 lineup includes three diverse days of outdoor programming. Talib Kweli, the Easy Star All-Stars, DâM-FunK, and Kuba Oms are scheduled to appear on July 24. U.S.S., BadBadNotGood, Bliss n Eso, Watsky, Bestie, and Little India occupy the July 25 slots while Dan Mangan and Blacksmith, Jon and Roy, Built to Spill, Northcote, and Weird Party are on deck July 26.

Earlybird passes ($75) are on sale through backyardweekender.com until Thursday at 10 p.m. Regular pricing (single day, $34.50; three-day pass, $89.50) comes into effect at 10 a.m. Friday.
