The new Riding Fool Hostel is at 2705 Dunsmuir Ave. in the historic town of Cumberland.

“We are thrilled to be associated with the Riding Fool Hostel. The hostel will be a credit to the HI brand and a great addition to our existing network of hostels on Vancouver Island,” said Robb Cryder, chief operating officer of Hostelling International for Canada’s Pacific Mountain Region.

For skiers and mountain bikers, the hostel is a short distance from Mount Washington. It is also the only hostel in Canada to include a bike shop. The staff can offer advice about local trails.

Riding Fool Hostel offers a range of room types for all budgets, from multi-share accommodation to various private room options. The hostel also provides guests with a fully-equipped kitchen, BBQ facilities, free Wi-Fi, large common room with wood stove and an on-site café.

Hostelling International — Canada is not-for-profit organization whose mission is to “help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of people, places culture.” It is part of Hostelling International, which has 4,000 hostels in 90 countries.
