Country music superstar Tim McGraw is coming to Vancouver Island next summer to headline Duncan’s annual Sunfest Country Music Festival, organizers said Monday.

McGraw, 46, will make his Island debut Aug. 3 at the Cowichan Valley festival, the fourth and final day of the event. The Louisiana native is one of the most popular singers in country music history, with three Grammy Award wins and 25 No. 1 singles to his credit.

Sunfest has become one of B.C.’s most in-demand country music attractions. In recent years, the locally produced festival has brought Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Thompson Square, the Charlie Daniels Band and more to the Sunfest stage.

More artist announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

Festival passes are on sale now. For more information, go to sunfestconcerts.com.
