Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria. A ridge of high pressure is building in the wake of a passing cold front. Westerly winds of 70 gusting to 90 km/h are expected to develop in Greater Victoria early Wednesday afternoon and will continue into the early evening.
Winds will diminish later in the evening.
A third B.C. fish farm is under quarantine after a virus deadly to farmed salmon was detected on a site owned by Mainstream Canada.
Victoria’s harbour walkway will now be known as David Foster Way.
