In a bid to forge closer ties between the West Shore and the rest of Greater Victoria, View Royal Casino and Wilson’s Transportation launched the WestShore Express Shuttle on Thursday.

Its route runs between the casino, Saanich Plaza and the Victoria bus depot, and offers connections to buses going to the B.C. Ferries terminal and Victoria International Airport.

“We are extremely proud and thrilled to be able to present this transportation option that will not only provide greater access to our communities, but it will also allow for greater exposure for many local businesses in the area,” said Chris Lynn, executive director of Great Canadian Gaming’s Island operations. The cost is $5 per ride or a $10 pass allowing unlimited use for a day.

Passengers can also use the park and ride service at the View Royal Casino.

“The WestShore Express is a project that we committed to with View Royal Casino as we believe that there is a great opportunity to connect both visitors and residents alike with the West Shore community,” said John Wilson, chief executive of Wilson’s Transportation.

“It will also provide people living on the West Shore easy access to other modes of transportation including the B.C. Ferries and the Victoria airport.”
