On the Street: V Lounge at the Red Lion drops nightclub

V Lounge Sports Bar and Night Club at the Red Lion Inn is dropping the nightclub. The dance and DJ spot is having a closing party on Saturday, ending a six-year run in the 211-seat space.

V Lounge Sports Bar and Night Club at the Red Lion Inn is dropping the nightclub. The dance and DJ spot is having a closing party on Saturday, ending a six-year run in the 211-seat space. Red Lion manager Jamie Woo said the V Lounge will remain open as a sports bar and it will be business as usual at The Fox Showroom Pub, which features exotic dancers. The V Lounge nightclub, which has been operating on Friday and Saturday nights since 2007, will have a grand sendoff on Saturday from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., featuring DJ Clinton.

New directors for foundation

Mount St. Mary Hospital Foundation has unveiled a new website, msmfoundation.ca, and welcomed two new directors to its board. Rick Connolly of Crown Corporation Employers Association and Heather Kohler of 791 Technologies have accepted two year terms. Meanwhile, Lisa Nye of Pinpoint Consulting was renewed as chairwoman, David Lloyd of Scotia McLeod is first vice-chairman, Ian McCracken of BMO Harris Private Banking is second vice-chairman and Adrian Elbers of CIBC World Markets was reinstated as treasurer. They join existing board members Yvette Wells of IBM Global Business, Deane Strongitharm of CitySpaces Consulting Ltd., and Vern McLeish, a retired accountant. The Mount St. Mary Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit organization created to support programs at Mount St. Mary Hospital that are designed to enrich the quality of life of its residents.
