Visitors hit the dock at Harbour Air on Friday on their way into Victoria for the weekend. A hot, dry summer has kept the region's tourism industry hopping, with flights and ferries into the city reporting strong numbers and hotels around the Inner Harbour continuing to report occupancy rates around 90 per cent late into the tourist season.

The Greater Victoria Labour Relations Association, Royal & McPherson Theatres Society and International Association of Theatrical and Stage Employees representing unionized stage employees ratified a new collective agreement this week. The deal covers the period from

Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec, 31, 2019, and includes wage increases of 1.5, 1.75 and two per cent.
