The Easter Bunny showed up at the Comox Valley Airport on Thursday to greet passengers and hand out locally produced, hand-made chocolate goodies supplied by Hot Chocolates. E.B., as the airport calls him, first received a training session to ensure safety. Airport operations manager Alex Robertson stayed close by. The airport is marking the 10-year anniversary of its new terminal.

“It appears that E.B. was looking to expand on the experience section of his LinkedIn profile,” said Fred Bigelow, CEO of the Comox Valley Airport.

“With the increasing popularity of the Paleo Diet, polls are suggesting that chocolate consumption could decrease this year and he wanted to learn a backup skill,” Bigelow joked.

Robertson said, “As for those ears, it appears E.B. was able to pick up the chatter in the cockpit — though, due to privacy issues, we can’t reveal the exact contents of that conversation. We can confirm, however, that the pilots were pretty surprised to see an oversized bunny on the ramp and they appeared to be very interested in the chocolate once they parked the plane.”
