A body was found near the railway trestle in Goldstream Park on Sunday.

West Shore RCMP, Langford firefighters and B.C. Ambulance paramedics had difficulty accessing the site and called out B.C. Parks staff to unlock gates in the campground.

A citizen reported seeing the body about noon, and West Shore RCMP reached the site at 1:15 p.m., said Cpl. Raj Sandhu.

Crews had to walk along the E&N train tracks to reach the area where the body was found.

It’s unclear at this point whether foul play is a factor. However, the trestle is an area where suicides have occurred in the past.

No information was available on the dead person’s name, gender or age.

The matter is under investigation by West Shore RCMP and the coroner’s office.
