Several Vancouver Island musicians have been vying for exposure in the final leg of the CBC Searchlight competition, a national hunt for new talent that comes with a $20,000 prize. This week a local filmmaker captured a few of the contestants in an inspiringly chummy jam session at Victory Barber and Brand in the Atrium in downtown Victoria:
The Victoria finalists in the first round of regional voting are:

Twenty-year-old Nanaimo singer-songwriter Rosie June.
University of Victoria and Victoria Conservatory of music alum Amy Wood:
