Two cyclists were taken to hospital and several others injured after a car drove into a pack of 20 riders in North Saanich.

About 20 cyclists from a Victoria-area riding club were travelling west on Lands End Road around 10:45 a.m. on Saturday when a passing car veered into them after being hit by a second car turning onto the road. Several riders hit the ground. Sidney/North Saanich RCMP and B.C. Ambulance crews were alerted and arrived shortly after the crash.

Two of the cyclists were taken to hospital and later released and several others suffered minor injuries. The drivers were unharmed. Both vehicles were damaged along with many of the bikes.

Sidney North Saanich RCMP are investigating what led to the collision.
