Saanich police seek witnesses to home ransacking

Residents of a Saanich house returned Thursday evening to find nearly every room ransacked.

While the owners were away between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., someone entered through a window and ripped through the home, emptying the contents of drawers and closets onto the floor, says Saanich police spokeswoman Sgt. Julie Fast. The mess was so extensive that as of yesterday morning, the homeowners had not yet been able to determine what objects were missing. It appears some heritage jewelry may have been taken, however.

Anyone with information is asked to call Saanich police at 250-475-4321 or Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
